Here are the top tips to have a quick summer glow up:

  • Meditate in the morning for 5 min a day. You will automatically de-stress and begin attracting your dream summer.
  • Get 8 hours of rest. It is normal to sleep a little less during the summer due to having too much fun. Is that a crime, hell no! However, your body and brain will thank you if you find time to get some shut-eye.
  • Begin an exercise routine before summer. There is nothing worse than feeling not confident in your swimsuit. The amount of time you spend in the gym will vary from person to person, but getting the heart rate up is a surefire way to release endorphins and help you feel like a goddess inside and out.
  • Journal in the mornings. This is a great way to brain dump, goals set, and visualize your dreams. Write it out so you feel lighter throughout the day.
  • Spend time in nature. Get outdoors this summer! Spend time with all the elements and explore!
  • Speaking of exploring, the ultimate summer glow up is to spend time traveling. The more you adventure and discover the earth the more you will transform your life.

In all honesty, the sooner you start, the better you will feel. This will all depend on your goals and whether or not you want to shed a layer or two, build muscle or maintain where you are at.

These are a few general guidelines that can help you get summer body ready.

  • Track your calories with My Fitness Pal. Most of the time women are not eating enough or eating too much. How will you know if you don’t track it? If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories. Check out How To Pre Vacation Cleanse for more info.
  • Ditch the scale. Usually, it makes you feel like $hit and it is not an accurate way to track your progress. Try taking progress photos or using measurements.
  • To lose weight, start with 30 minutes of cardio (low intensity, like walking uphill or on a treadmill at a steep incline) a few days a week. If you plateau (stop losing weight) increase the amount of cardio or amount of days.
  • Weight lifting. This will give you some nice curves and help you feel strong. Ditch the idea that weights make you bulky, it is simply not true. What they do is protect your body and give you an adventure advantage, who knows what kind of fun things are in store for you this year! Start with 3-4 days a week at home or the gym.
  • Eat fresh. Mix in some summer salads, fresh fruits, and veggies. This one tip alone can make you feel more energized and happy.
  • Yoga. Even a few days a week can shift your summer vibe. Yoga will help you feel amazing, relaxed, and flexible. Plus, it definitely adds to the summer glow up.
  • Play more. Just move your body. The more you move, the more you will naturally lose excess weight, gain strength, and feel confident in whatever it is you are doing.
  • Always remember, your body is already “summer ready” and you should never feel ashamed of where you are currently at. F*ck anyone who thinks you need to be a certain size to wear a swimsuit. Do yourself a favor this year and don’t hide inside.
